The Fraunhofer IFAM team of the Offshore Drone Campus Cuxhaven (ODCC) successfully completed theoretical and practical training for advanced inspection drones as part of the DIOL project. The training went smoothly and the team, led by Tim Strohbach, was able to acquire important far-reaching skills.
The aim is to gradually expand the current capacities of European offshore port locations by 2050 and drive forward the expansion of the infrastructure.
This is precisely where the Interreg North Sea project DIOL (Develop Innovative Offshore Logistic) comes in, in which Fraunhofer IFAM is responsible for the implementation of long-range and heavy-duty drones for material transportation as well as transnational BVLOS flights. 🛩️💼
DIOL comprises eight pilot projects, including intelligent offshore drone transportation, renewable energy for logistics hubs and intelligent monitoring of renewable energy infrastructures.
