The DIOL partner Brittany Aviation (B.A.) attended the SEANERGY international forum 2023 that took place in Paris with a stand. It was joined by the Port of Brest and Brittany’s offshore renewable energy (ORE) sector (the Bretagne Pôle Naval cluster, the port of Lorient and the Paimpol-Bréhat test site, 13 ORE technology companies), all flying the Bretagne Ocean Power banner.
Seanergy is the leading international event dedicated to offshore renewable energy, each year, bringing together more than 3,500 leaders and experts from the sector. During two days, the exhibition area is the place where attendees explore innovations and technologies making the energy transition happen, where they do business and reach out to professionals showcasing projects and vision into future solutions as one of 200 exhibitors.
Considering the very large panel of economic and political decision-makers present at the event, this was an excellent opportunity to intensively promote the DIOL project and its ambition to become an active facilitator -in the North Sea infrastructure providers (ports/airports)- for the creation of the “Green Power Plant of Europe” (NS GPPoE), as per commitment made by the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands at the North Sea Summit in Esbjerg on 18/05/2022.
During the event Brittany Aviation was able to extend its network of contacts by establishing useful links with participating organisations that might help with the delivery of the foreseen DIOL pilots within the scope of the goals set in the Esbjerg Declaration (reinforced in April 2023 by the Ostend Declaration). This will be key to prepare the ground for an integrated logistics system for the expected energy islands and future new offshore (floating and stationary) wind parks.
As the only offshore aviation advisor present at the show, Brittanny Aviation played an important role in highlighting its research into the decarbonization of airborne logistics offshore wind and raise awareness on the DIOL challenge of finding smart solutions for a safe management of mixed manned and unmanned vehicles in support of the offshore wind farms.
