On 16th october 2024 Brest Port organised a networking event to allow several organisations from the Atlantic and North Sea areas to discuss the future of alternative energy sources and fuels for the maritime sector and provide an opportunity for business dialogue.

Brest Port facilitates collaboration on new fuels for the maritime world
The event "Hydrogen and e-fuels for ports decarbonation", that took place in Brest taking advantage of Sea Tech Week international event, brought together several EU projects under the "cooperation" motto: DIOL, REDII Ports, HYDEA, H2Valley Ports, Green Supply Chains from the North Sea and Atlantic areas. The workshop was divided into two sessions:
- the use of hydrogen for maritime applications (Shipping as leader of the transition + Ports as energy hubs and nodes of the maritime energy corridors + Energy transition in port and port logistics);
- sustainability of hydrogen/ e-fuels: towards a common framework and roadmap (Derisking the supply and support through regulations).
