AquaSmartXL showcases underwater drones for efficient inspection from the seaside
Last week, team AquaSmartXL hosted a study visit at the iconic Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam as part of the Interreg North Sea Programme Conference 2023. The company, a technology partner in the DIOL project, had the opportunity to present its innovative underwater drone technology for enhancing offshore infrastructure inspection and monitoring.
During the study visit, AquaSmartXL representatives Marlon Drinkwaard and Gyöngyi Czemmel presented the company's remotely operated aquatic drones, equipped with advanced sensors and cameras to inspect and monitor infrastructure from the seaside. The drones can provide valuable insights into the condition of bridges, and port structures such as piers, quays, jetties, offshore wind turbines, and other difficult-to-access areas in the water.
AquaSmartXL underwater drones have been successfully deployed for various applications, and Marlon Drinkwaard and Gyöngyi Czemmel provided great insight into the operation.
The visit also included a live demonstration of the drones, where participants could get a chance to control the aquatic drones in the water next to the premises of AquaSmartXL.
