Linnaeus University, Sweden, is one of the five participating universities in the CTB project. Their Sustainable Built Environment research group focuses on the circular economy, energy efficiency, energy system analysis, climate adaptation, transition management, behavioral, market, and policy analysis, as well as business models such as the One-Stop-Shop concept.

Resource-efficient innovation
Linnaeus University believes that open, creative minds are needed for the design and implementation of sustainable innovations for a resource-efficient and sustainable society. They provide a research and educational perspective on the circularity of building materials. Circularity challenges the current model of ’take-make-use-dispose’ of the linear value chain and promotes a re-looped value chain for a more sustainable future.

Analyses, calculations & recommendations
Within the context of the Circular Trust Building project, LNU conducts market analyses, maps the possibility of circularity of various materials generated from renovation and/or construction projects in Kronoberg, calculates carbon footprint, and provides policy recommendations to increase circularity.
Together with the CTB partner GodaHus, the university offers a training for professionals and students on the circularity of building materials.
