What was the ultimate objective of the Circular Business Camp? Certainly, it aimed to foster the development of circular business models—transitioning from linear to circular models or learning to integrate circularity into existing ones. However, it's important to communicate these innovations to your customer, stakeholders and the wider audience. How is this achieved? Through pitching! On the fourth day of the Circular Business Camp, participants engaged in pitching exercises to refine their communication skills and effectively convey their circular business concepts to the world.

How to pitch and create an MVP/MVC

After exploring topics like customers, circular business models, and the circular economy during the business camp, it's time to put our knowledge into action. This involves visualizing and effectively communicating our ideas. We achieve this by creating Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) or Minimum Viable Concepts (MVCs) and pitching them to our audience and relevant stakeholders.

Greenwashing or communicating?

We also delved into the crucial subject of Greenwashing. As we communicate our new and enhanced circular business models, it's important to substantiate our claims of circularity with facts. Failure to do so essentially amounts to Greenwashing our business.

How to avoid Greenwashing:

  1. Make your claims clear and easy to understand
  2. Back up your sustainability claims with data.
  3. Compare apples to apples.
  4. Clean up your operations.
  5. Be honest about your brand’s sustainability practices and plans.
  6. Make sure images on ads and packaging are not misleading.
