About the Hamburg Pilot

The objective of the Hamburg pilot is to foster a circular mindset in Northern Germany’s office
furniture sector. We aim to achieve this through a multi-layered approach comprised of

Enhancing dialogue, networking and exchange of circular practices by establishing a
biannual CEO stakeholder roundtable launched on 27 November 2023
Introducing circular principles in teaching and training through challenges and projects for
university students, apprentices, and others
Exploring the challenges of New Work for the OF
Enabling new ways of working by developing and testing OF concepts that are
based on circular design principles
Demonstrating the potential of circular OF through prototyping and communication activities

HiiCCE

HiiCCE (Hamburg Institute for Innovation, ClimateProtection and Circular Economy) is an affiliated research institute of Hamburg University of Technology and as such a think tank for the circular economy. Theinstitute brings together the competences of Hamburg’s municipal solid waste and cleaning company, the Sustainable Resource andWaste Management working group of the Hamburg University of Technology, and the former JOMA Umwelt-Beratungsgesellschaft.
